The Galway University Hospitals Antimicrobial Prescribing Guidelines App (or GAPP for short) has just won the MSD Multidisciplinary Award for 2014.

Maithu worked closely with the Galway University Hospital over the last two years to develop a best in class
mobile App and calculator based on their comprehensive antimicrobial guidelines prescribing policies. It has been downloaded and used by people all over the world on Android, iPhone and tablet devices. Staff in GUH use the MEG system to ensure that the content of their Guidelines app and their staff are kept up to date at all times. The Antimicrobial Pharmacist who led the project, Marie Tierney, is pictured receiving the award below at the award ceremony in DoubleTree, the Burlington.
