Its been a busy few weeks for our developers, we have recently launched the Irish Times app for the Nokia OVI store, four of our app's have been shortlisted for the 'Appys' and we have also released two new app's on the Android Market. We have been working on a branded Irish Times app to coincide with the promotion of Nokia's new N8 smartphone, The app is normally €2 but Nokia users can download the app for FREE during the next two weeks. Click here for more info. We have also released the full version of our 'Get the Focal' app for Android phones. The full version includes Irish pronunciations and accesses translations from the O'Donall dictionary, focal.ie and google translate websites so that you can translate full sentences and hear them pronounced 'as gaeilge'. View on the app store We have also published our 'Phrase of the Day' or 'Frása an Lae' for Android phones. The App contains a common Irish saying for each day of the year and was developed with voice over help from Colm O'Snodaigh of Kíla. View on the app store Maithu Shortlisted for App awards: The short lists for the first annual 'Appy' awards have also been announced and Maithú have made the grade with four of their apps. The 'Irish Times' app has been nominated for the best OVI app (Nokia) 'Get the Focal' has been nominated for the Best Irish language app (Sponsored by Foras na Gaeilge) 'Gaelfón' has been nominated in the best educational app category (Sponsored by DIT) and BADA category (Samsung) The Appys will celebrate innovation and creativity in the App development industry and reward the best, the most useful and the most creative Apps and their developers.
