Press Release ‘IRISH TECHNOLOGY ON SAMSUNG PHONES’ Irish Technology Company, Maithú to supply translation software for new Samsung phones Monday 23rd February, 2009: Irish IT company Maithú limited have been contracted by Samsung Ireland to supply an Irish translation application for their mobile handsets. Following the success of their Tocco phone which was the first to have predictive text 'as gaeilge', Samsung have included the Gaelfón Dictionary application on their recently launched Pixon phone and plan to have it on new phones in the Irish market. The Gaelfón application is based on Maithu's 'Get The Focal', a 12,000 word Irish language tanslator which can be installed on most phones by texting the word 'focal' to 53503. Maithu are releasing a new version of the appliation during Seachtaine na Gaeilge with extra translations and the ability to translate from Irish to English as well as from English to Irish. It will also be releasing a version for the IPhone market in March.
